Until recently, Little Rascals’ stated they often imported from “associated licensed breeders in Southern Ireland”.
Following exposure that they consistently refused to name and show evidence of their external suppliers, Little Rascals have now changed their claim to read “...we occasionally import from licensed breeders within the UK…”.
We all know that is blatantly untrue (see About), therefore the following blog piece stands….
“associated licensed breeders in Southern Ireland“
According to ex-employees, Little Rascals import (or have imported) from a variety of sleezy puppy farmers, among them Gerry Smyth, Michael McKay, the Bolands and Paddy Dooley, the mystery dog breeder without a valid address.
Paperwork given to buyers showed that the majority of imported puppies are supplied by Paddy Dooley, whose puppy farm is allegedly based in Co Kilkenny.
Paddy Dooley is licensed for 80+ breeding bitches. However, the exact physical location for his puppy farm is not specified – anywhere.
An enquiry to An Post (Ireland Post Office) and Kilkenny Council revealed that Mr Dooley is using a misleading personal and business address (“Kilkenny ROAD, Freshford”), even on company documents, where full disclosure is normally mandatory –
From Kilkenny County Council : “Kilkenny Street is located in Freshford, County Kilkenny but there is no Kilkenny Road as such. The R693 is the road leading from Kilkenny City to Freshford.”
From An Post : “ Please be advised that the An Post database indicates there is a Kilkenny Street and a Freshford Road as the Kilkenny Council have informed you. However, Kilkenny Road , Freshford is not validating on our database as a valid address.”
We’ve asked Bridgett Dickens and Edward Swindells many times in the past to show evidence confirming that their associate Mr Dooley is operating, at the very least, within the terms of a breeding licence (however inadequate that may be) and our requests are always ignored. Canine Breeders Ireland
Paddy Dooley is a director and company secretary of Canine Breeders Ireland Limited. Michael McKay is also a director.
Mr McKay featured in a RTE One Puppy Farming programme along with Gerry Smyth. Brothers Jonathan and David Hamilton (Furnish Kennels) were exposed in the BBC Scotland Dog Factory documentary. All are members and associates of CBI [→Canine Breeders Ireland].
Until recently, puppy farmer Gerry Smyth was openly associated with Bridgett Dickens, and according to former employees, Michael McKay and Gerry Smyth have brokered and/or supplied puppies to Little Rascals.
However, when the association with Gerry Smyth was exposed publicly, Bridgett Dickens removed him from her Facebook friends, claiming not to have had any dealings with him professionally or personally, and she eventually removed this from her Facebook page..
